I White Stripes si sono separati
Jack e Meg White si dividono. I White Stripes annunciano il clamoroso scioglimento. Dopo i Raconteurs, i Dead Weather e la Third Man Records, dopo le produzioni e la vita coniugale, Jack White non aveva più trovato il tempo per dedicarsi alla band. Forse questo il motivo alla base di uno split così annunciato sul sito ufficiale:
The White Stripes do not belong to Meg and Jack anymore. The White Stripes belong to you now and you can do with it whatever you want. The beauty of art and music is that it can last forever if people want it to. Thank you for sharing this experience. Your involvement will never be lost on us and we are truly grateful.

Sei album realizzati tra il 1999 e il 2007 esclusa l’ultima release del 2010 (il DVD ‘Under Great White Northern Lights’) che sembra proprio essere stato un programmato epitaffio.
