Arcade Fire Miglior album del 2010: i primi responsi di Mojo, Q e NME 1/12/2010 di Francesco Donadio

Le più importanti testate musicali del globo terracqueo, in questi giorni, hanno iniziato a pubblicare le loro classiche poll di fine stagione, in cui i redattori sono chiamati a votare i migliori album dell'anno appena trascorso (e ok, manca ancora un mese intero, ma la poll va pubblicata prima di Natale e del rush nei negozi per i regali ad amici e parenti, no?).
Dai primi autorevoli giudizi delle testate britanniche (NME, Mojo e Q) non sembra esserci una gran convergenza di opinioni: gli unici che sembrano ridersela sempre e comunque sono i canadesi Arcade Fire, il cui terzo lavoro The Suburbs è al n.1 per Q, e al secondo posto sia per l'NME che per Mojo.
Il New Musical Express stavolta fa una scelta a sorpresa - che rispecchia anche la nuova più anticonformistica direzione editoriale - incoronando miglior album del 2010 Hidden dei These New Puritans, assente dalla Top 50 sia di Mojo che di Q.
Anche i redattori da Mojo, comunque, stavolta non sono da meno, ed eleggono un album passato un po' sotto traccia (eccetto che dalle parti dello stesso Mojo, che all'epoca dell'uscita gli diede cinque stelle, ossia il massimo dei voti) quale Queen Of Denmark del 41enne di Denver John Grant, in passato leader della band The Czars, scioltasi nel 2004. Grant appare al n.6 nelle chart di Q ma è totalmente ignorato da quelle dell'NME.
