Frank Ocean Per Rolling Stone il miglior album del 2012 è quello di Springsteen, ma il trionfatore dell'anno è la rivelazione nu-R&B Frank Ocean 6/12/2012 di Francesco Donadio

Finalmente arrivano anche i verdetti della critica USA sul miglior album del 2012. Non stupisce più di tanto il tradizionalista Rolling Stone, che elegge al n.1 Wrecking Ball di Bruce Springsteen, mentre la poll di Spin Magazine punta su nomi decisamente più nuovi e sonorità d'avanguardia. A trionfare nella classifica di Spin è la rivelazione nu-R&B Frank Ocean con il suo Channel Orange, peraltro votatisssimo anche dal Rolling Stone - che lo posiziona al n.2 - e da tutte le più importanti testate inglesi (n.2 per Mojo, n. 3 per NME e n.5 per Uncut). Frank Ocean, inoltre, quest'anno è in lizza per ben sei Grammys.
Per quanto riguarda i dischi fin qui più gettonati, Blunderbuss di Jack White è al n.3 per Rolling Stone e solo al n.35 per Spin, mentre Lonerism dei Tame Impala appare al n.26 per Spin e non compare nella lista di Rolling Stone.
