“When we wake up we are all facing the same sun. But still we try to tell everyone where they belong. It doesn't matter where you're from, 'Cause you can choose who you`ll become And in the end, we are all the same We all just want to live We all just want to We all just want to We all just want to live 'Cause we are all the same” – We Are All The Same
People come and go, you can't control Who's gonna stay 'till the end “So don't stop and never give up 'Cause you'll never know how the road will bend All we have is now Oh it's now or never” – Hey Now
“Feels like I was born in the wrong decade People don’t get that beauty will fade All that remains is the soul And I'm so tired of this immature love And I'm so sick of superficial talks” – Old-Fashioned Love
We Are All The Same”.
“I've showed you all my demons and you're still here I've never had a friend like you before I was a stranger to myself Like driftwood along the shore But you made me see myself again” – Please Bear With Me

If there is one thing that brings prestige to streaming services such as Spotify it is the endless treasure hunt hidden within them. Every time we enter it, the most popular playlists appear on the front page, the most popular artists, the most listened singles.
But then, digging a little under the evanescent surface of this ephemeral music, you find dim lights, buried gems waiting for a listener to bring them to the sunlight. Selina Cifric and her ep "We Are All The Same" have reached me in one of these days of "discovery", attracted by the title and the cover worthy of an old blues album. It didn’t take long, after listening to the title track (placed at the top of the tracklist of the album composed in total of 6 tracks), to be bewitched by this young girl. His biting voice, in symbiosis with the rhythmic gait of the song that opens in a choral chorus, immediately requires greater attention to mind. Thus we hear the words of Selina, terribly authentic and exciting, in which the boundaries become insurmountable walls, to be crossed at any cost, and consciences torn by losses, bodies humiliated by war, looking for a new beginning beyond an imaginary line drawn on a map.
People come and go, you can't control Who's gonna stay 'till the end “So don't stop and never give up 'Cause you'll never know how the road will bend All we have is now Oh it's now or never” – Hey Now
In the following tracks the important social and introspective vein of Selina resurfaces several times, as for example in "Hey Now" (in which we talk about the importance of "here and now", of seizing the moment living fully the present) or in the beautiful rock ballad that closes the ep, "Old-Fashioned Love", where the music initially seems to subside while the soul continues to yearn for its own inability to come to terms with a ferocious society and in perpetual movement, but also terribly empty in the social ties that weaves between people.
“Feels like I was born in the wrong decade People don’t get that beauty will fade All that remains is the soul And I'm so tired of this immature love And I'm so sick of superficial talks” – Old-Fashioned Love
To musically support these reflections there is often the guitar (in the ep also include: guest voice Andre Schondelmaier, Andreas Faber, Andreas Prinzbach, Sebastian Maier, Lukas Gangl, Mike Tascona, Marvin Hemberger and Dimitri Albert, while on drums we find Tobias Eppinger and on bass Benjamin Knoke) as a backbone on which then every other element, from the choirs, to the rhythmic structure, go to cling to create musical structures steeped in blues veins and suggestions that refer to the most classic rock. The end result is a captivating album in the sounds and deeply empathetic in the lyrics.
We need curiosity, the will to look once in a while beyond our own "comfort zone", to discover the existence of artists like Selina Cifric and remind us that "We Are All The Same".
